Goodman Heating and Cooling Growth Projections

2012 Daikin Buyout of Goodman Heating and Cooling

Perhaps you remember the 2012 Daikin Industries Ltd. buyout of Goodman heating and cooling (Goodman Global Inc.). In initiating the $3.7 billion purchase, Daikin hoped to open new doors into the North America heating and cooling business (1). The deal provided Daikin with better than 900 new points of distribution into the home air conditioning marketplace. However, it also opened some flack in the mind of Moody’s Investors Service and other securities monitoring agencies. For example: Senior analyst for the Iwai Cosmo Securities Co. said that the deal might be a bit too big for Daikin. And of course, such comments caused a serious drop in Daikin shares. At the close of the Aug. 1, 2012 Tokyo trading day, Daikin shares were down 3.5 percent.

Ah, but time passes, viewpoints change, and homeowners reap the benefits.

Fast Forward To 2014 And the Daikin Goal For Goodman Heating and Cooling

Goodman Heading and Cooling CEO A new Goodman CEO, Takeshi Ebisu, is in place. Established plans for increased growth in manufacturing dominate the vision. Takeshi determines to lead Daikin’s United States operations, including Goodman air conditioning divisions into a productive, innovative and prosperous future. For Mr. Ebisu, the Goodman Global Group Inc., Houston-based heating, ventilation and air conditioning product base will soon incorporate a greater global influence throughout the HVAC community (2).

With over twenty years experience with Daikin, Takeshi has the negotiating experiences to bring about greater performance, higher market growth, and better global product distribution for both companies. Integrating strategies will make it happen. It’s a global mindset that expands the Goodman heating and cooling focus into the global marketplace while also enhancing support for the local buyer of Goodman Air Conditioning products throughout North America.

The Goodman U.S. manufacturing operations will expand. Both Daikin and Goodman will combine strengths to provide homeowners and business owners with more options, better products, and HVAC resources that will be the rival of anything heating and cooling on the market.

 Not Just A Daikin/Goodman A/C Vision

The changes are already in effect. By late 2013, Daikin’s first U.S.  A/C manufacturing project cranked up at the Huston-based Goodman air conditioning plant. But that was just a beginning. Currently Daikin produces three brands of HVAC equipment in U.S. based manufacturing plants:

  • Goodman Air Conditioning and Goodman Heat Pump Brands
  • Amana Air Conditioning Brands
  • AND The Newly Introduced Daikin Air Conditioning Brand.

The vision according to Ebisu includes long-term HVAC development projects as well as short-term revenue for all divisions. The manufacturing process will expand to include production of various affiliated products. Regional recognition is just as important as global recognition. Ebisu intends for Goodman and Daikin products to become the local favorite throughout the U.S. The products, already established and respected, will become even more distinguished for:

  • Product durability
  • Product reliability
  • Product options
  • Product warranties
  • AND Cost-efficient product pricing.

Concerning the growth and the performance issues, Ebisu says: “I’m not saying that hasn’t been the case, but with our new products, we want to be accepted more into the market.”

Will Installing a New Goodman Air Conditioning System Reduce My Electric Bill?

AC Installation In AZHome Air Conditioning – Modern HVAC Technology Improves A/C System Performance

What makes installing new home air conditioning effective? Technology! It’s just a simple fact that modern heating and cooling technology is more cost effective, energy efficient, and comfort effectual than the HVAC technology of ten years in the past.

“Contact American Cooling and Heating for FREE Installation / Replacement Estimates”

No matter what type of HVAC system you have in your house, running a home air conditioning system is energy-expensive. However, if your cooling equipment is out-dated or in need of service the expense may be much higher than necessary. A consistent program of proper A/C maintenance increases your home comfort level and ensures that you get the best energy efficiency your installed heating and cooling system can provide. But therein lies a bit of a catch. An out-dated air conditioning system lacks the energy saving technology of modern equipment. In plain words, older systems use obsolete refrigerant and cooling technology. Installing a new state-of-the-art Goodman air conditioning system can help you manage energy consumption in a way that can help reduce your electric bill*.

Home Air Conditioning – A Few Basic Facts About HVAC Energy Consumption

According to Energy Gov, heating and cooling a home typically accounts for 54% of your home utility bill (1). If you combine professional system maintenance practices with reliable air sealing processes and reasonable thermostat settings you can reduce your home energy consumption. If you install modern, Energy Star-compliant HVAC equipment, and make use of the above upgrades you can cut your heating and cooling bill while also reducing your home’s environmental emissions by as much as 50 percent.

In Arizona and other Southwest states, increased wildfires, sweltering summer heat and an amplified demand on home cooling is a 2014 certainty. According to Arizona Public Service (APS), the company manages over 20,000 miles of above ground power lines (1). And the company is concerned about current threats to the stability of these lines. With the entire Southwest United States at risk to an above normal potential for wildfires, every line in the APS overhead energy delivery process is susceptible to malfunction and/or complete destruction. The company estimates peak 2014 summer demands for energy that will exceed the highs required during 2013. Expecting the near-future Phoenix high temperatures to once more top 113 degrees, Arizona Public Service is working hard to ensure that customers have sufficient power to drive home and business A/C equipment.

Thing is: Rather than being assured that more energy is available, you need a way to reduce your home’s demand for energy. Arizona homes still running on an out-dated heat pump or an over-the-hill air conditioning system need the benefits of modern heating and cooling technology. Installing a new energy-efficient Goodman A/C not only helps reduce your electric bills it also helps increase your year-round comfort level*.

Federal Energy Tax Credit Defined

When congress recently modified and extended the existing U.S. energy efficiency tax guidelines, they passed the American Tax Payer Relief Act of 2012. Incentive components of the modified Federal Energy Tax Credit that relate to 25C heating and cooling equipment includes HVAC units used in new homes as well as units retrofitted to existing homes. Federal legislation also embraces retroactive extensions for previously established heating and cooling tax credits.

As such, Phoenix homeowners who purchase select types of Goodman Central AC equipment as well as other eligible heating, ventilation and A/C units are entitled to the benefits of the tax credit program. Note: The tax credit is not limited to air conditioning equipment. However, A/C installation is one of the more costly energy-related home improvement projects.

The new tax credit legislation remains in effect from January 1, 2012 to December 31. Five hundred dollars is established as the cumulative cap or maximum tax credit.

Geothermal tax credits are also components of the Federal Tax Credit program, but this article limits itself to American Cooling and Heating installed Arizona Central Air Conditioning systems and American Cooling and Heating installed Arizona Heat Pump systems. • The installed unit must meet precise energy efficiency standards

  • The unit must be installed in your principle residences between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2013
  • The IRS directs residential taxpayers to apply using Form 5695
  • Wise consumers will consult with a tax professional before filing the claim.
